Red Haven Advisors

Red Haven Advisors is a registered investment advisor that was established by an advisor who realized that many savers are either not investing or have unanswered questions about their investments. Red Haven is registered as an investment advisor with the state of Washington and may be required to register in other jurisdictions as its business grows.

We are an analytically minded investment advisor that fully appreciates the sacrifice and commitment represented by our clients’ assets. Most of our clients have built their investment portfolios by regularly budgeting and saving throughout their careers.

We embrace a fierce “think-for-yourself” attitude that aims to steer clients towards attractively priced productive assets and away from asset bubbles and investment fads.

Shamus McCarthy, CFA – Founder

Shamus McCarthy is the founder and portfolio manager at Red Haven Advisors. Prior to founding Red Haven, he held Financial Planning & Analysis roles at Starbucks Coffee Company, T-Mobile, and Vulcan Inc. Shamus is an analytically-minded value investor that enjoys “telling the story”. He emphasizes the importance of data-driven decision-making and proactive communication.

Shamus lives in Seattle, Washington with his wife, Heidi, and their dog, Jaws. He enjoys hiking, traveling, and Heidi’s delicious homemade food.

Shamus earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering from Montana State University and he holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation.
